Requirements

• Working towards the achievement of a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
• Achieving credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam per state requirements.
• JD may be accepted in place of CPA requirements.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and reporting of financial data.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Research and document technical conclusions related to day-to-day state tax matters that arise.
• Conduct multistate reviews that analyze income, franchise, and sales and use tax to identify optimal filing options.
• Handle various state tax compliance matters including state Voluntary Disclosure Programs.
• Provide technical support with state controversy matters like state tax examinations and preparation of appeals and private letter rulings.
• Assist with business structuring and other transaction-related matters.
• Identify credits, incentives, and state refund opportunities.
• Work directly with business owners and leaders to provide the tax guidance they need to grow their business.
• Support multiple client engagements on time and within budget, identifying issues and communicating progress.
• Keep current on state tax legislation and case law in technical areas and draft articles for internal and external publication.
