This position will serve as the administrative manager of the Adult Education staff responsible for providing service to participants eligible under key workforce programs including Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Title II Adult Education; Michigan State School Aid Act, Section 107 Adult Education; and High School Equivalency Testing. This position develops and executes policies, procedures and technical assistance and is responsible for oversight of performance, reporting and financial services. Duties will also include supervision of staff, drafting and finalizing long-term programmatic plans and policies for key workforce programs. This position will represent the Division and the Agency at meetings with internal and external customers. This position is responsible for assisting the State Division Administrator on projects and assignments.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
  • Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
