About The Position

The Starter/Ranger position at JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa involves overseeing the pace of play for golfers, ensuring smooth operations on the golf course, and providing excellent customer service to guests. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • No prior related work experience is required.
  • No supervisory experience is required.
  • No specific license or certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the pace of play for golfers to ensure they maintain their position on the course.
  • Notify the manager or supervisor of any important issues as necessary.
  • Maintain communication with the golf shop to ensure operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage traffic flow on the golf course by driving the golf cart around the course.
  • Check in golfers and start their games.
  • Distribute scorecards and pencils to golfers.
  • Accompany unregistered individuals leaving the course.
  • Assist at the start of special events and guide groups to their respective holes.
  • Remove waste from the golf course to maintain cleanliness.
  • Answer golfers' questions about the course, including rules, size, amenities, conditions, and chemicals used.
  • Place sponsor signs on the golf course before tournaments.
  • Provide directions to golfers regarding golf-related areas.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; protect company property.
  • Greet and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate their service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Communicate with others using clear and professional language and exchange information with other employees via electronic devices.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with others and support the team to achieve common goals.
  • Move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place objects weighing 10 pounds or less without assistance.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
