About The Position

Our Purpose is, “As the Cradle of American Golf, we honor timeless traditions and inspire legendary stories, one smile, one round, one moment at a time.” The primary purpose of this position is to give a welcome and all golf guidelines for play to each guest/group. The individual will give groups a summary of on course expectations and will be responsible for the overall management of orderly play. The goal is to provide an elite experience pre-round, on course and post-round for all visitors and guests of the property. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or General Education Diploma and a minimum of one year with related experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet and direct guests to starting area. Inform groups on locations for refreshments and restroom opportunities. Record all pre-round group information, walking method, cart numbers, caddie arrangements and tees played. Ensure all group caddie needs are secured and confirmed. Share all pertinent information with guests prior to starting the round. Maintain a visible presence at the first tee and staging area. Provide on course support via pace of play monitoring and enforcement. Professionally encourage groups to play at the desired pace. Communicate group status and solutions if needed in a professional and supportive manner. Cross train in other areas when requested by supervisor. Interface with guests, employees and caddies on a daily basis. Ensure any guest issues and concerns are promptly brought to the attention of supervisors/management.Must be aware of surroundings with an understanding of a golf environment. Must have the ability to see and react to the surroundings including errant golf balls and must understand and follow proper golf etiquette while completing all tasks. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The individual has no supervisory responsibilities. TEAMWORK:Working with all members of the golf operation team to ensure that each facet of the operation is functioning properly. Elevate the guest experience to the highest standard by working with peers on the common goal. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and other procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the company. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
