About The Position

Friendship Village Tempe is looking for a warm, organized, and service-driven Starfire Host to be the welcoming face of our Starfire dining venue. This role plays a key part in creating smooth service flow, great guest experiences, and efficient to-go operations, while also being cross-trained to step in as a Server when needed. This position requires flexibility across hosting, to-go service, and floor coverage duties.

Requirements

Customer service, food service, and/or cash-handling experience required.
Prior experience as a host preferred.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in English and follow directives.
Ability to interact professionally one-on-one with residents, guests, and employees.
Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
Must obtain a valid Maricopa County Food Handler’s Card within 30 days of hire and ensure it is on file with HR.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform other movements necessary for food service tasks.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Welcome residents and guests with a friendly, professional first impression
Manage reservations and coordinate seating flow to keep service running smoothly
Communicate closely with servers and bartenders to avoid over-seating and long waits
Take and process to-go orders through the POS system with accuracy and care
Package and deliver to-go orders, ensuring completeness and presentation
Maintain clean, organized host and to-go service areas
Stock to-go supplies, containers, condiments, and bags
Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times
Provide attentive hospitality and check in with guests to ensure great experiences
Step in to assist as a Server when needed
