About The Position

Our Client is seeking a skilled Starburst & Immuta Data Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in Azure cloud environments. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage secure, governed data access solutions using Starburst and Immuta for policy-based data security and compliance. This role requires strong expertise in cloud-native data architecture, distributed query engines, and enterprise data governance frameworks.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in data engineering within an Azure cloud environment.
Hands-on experience with Starburst Enterprise
Experience implementing Immuta data governance and policy management.
Strong SQL expertise and experience optimizing distributed queries.
Experience working with Azure services: Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2) Azure Synapse Analytics Azure SQL Database Azure Active Directory (AAD)

Responsibilities

Design and implement data virtualization solutions using Starburst across multiple data sources.
Configure and manage Immuta for data access governance, policy enforcement, and dynamic data masking.
Deploy and manage data solutions in Microsoft Azure (Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL, Synapse, etc.).
Develop and optimize SQL queries and data pipelines for performance and scalability.
Implement row-level, column-level, and attribute-based access controls.
Integrate Starburst with Azure-based data sources (ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL DB, Cosmos DB, etc.).
Configure new catalogs in Starburst, integrating with Immuta access controls
Managing SCIM functions supporting user profiles in Starburst and Immuta
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot query performance issues.
Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code deployments (Terraform, ARM templates).
Ensure compliance with enterprise security and regulatory standards (HIPAA, FedRAMP, etc., if applicable).
