About The Position

Job Description Duties & Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales Engagement Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with strong emphasis on fast, friendly customer service. Assist customers by making product suggestions and filling special orders. Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately; resolve customer complaints and escalate to the Store Director as needed. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in‑store intercom, and one‑on‑one interactions. Operational Execution & Product Preparation Maintain full working knowledge of all department duties performed by employees. Assist with all preparation, brewing, and serving of food and beverage items. Implement proper and efficient product preparation, packaging, and handling techniques. Operate all necessary equipment including: kitchen utensils, ovens (conventional & microwave), coffee grinders, coffee machines, espresso machines, blenders, printers, and pallet jacks. Maintain hot and cold food temperatures to company standards. Brew coffee and tea following company recipes and timing. Operate electronic cash register, accept payments, and make correct change. Food Safety, Sanitation & Equipment Care Maintain proper procedures and complete knowledge of Starbucks bar layout. Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and visual appeal of cases, equipment, and work areas. Ensure all temperature standards are met during preparation, display, and storage. Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety guidelines. Staff Leadership, Training & Scheduling Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to Starbucks department employees. Ensure scheduling meets service levels and coverage requirements. Train employees on store policies, sales procedures, and recordkeeping standards. Identify and develop employees with high potential for advancement. Monitor employee productivity and evaluate performance. Initiate personnel actions such as interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Daily Operations, Planning & Reporting Plan daily operations and monitor production processes to meet company procedures and profitability goals. Prepare sales and inventory reports; complete physical inventory every 4 weeks. Control inventory to ensure adequate quantity, quality, and freshness. Stock and rotate product; maintain and organize coolers. Build displays, rotate stock, and discard outdated or spoiled product. Understand and execute all opening and closing department procedures. Receiving & Inventory Management Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product. Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines; follow proper packaging techniques. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records. Complete and monitor all required logs (daily log sheet, Production Log, Par Chart, Sales & Labor, etc.). Control shrink, costs, and productivity. Compliance, Safety & Regulation Ensure all products meet proper code‑dating requirements and enforce compliance. Ensure accurate signage and pricing; comply with federal and state labeling and food regulations. Maintain safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of the Starbucks area, freezer, cooler, equipment, and sales floor. Follow emergency procedures in the event of equipment or software malfunctions. Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations. Perform all responsibilities safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity. Communication & Team Participation Attend and participate in sales meetings. Communicate sales goals, department performance, and sales opportunities to employees. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. Perform other necessary and required duties as assigned.

  • Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans.
  • Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
