About The Position

The Barista at Starbucks plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming environment for guests. This position involves preparing quality beverages and food products, maintaining cleanliness, and contributing to a positive team atmosphere. The Barista is expected to engage with customers, anticipate their needs, and ensure a high standard of service, all while adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment.
  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, in English, effectively both verbally and in writing, and understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
  • Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition.
  • Must successfully complete ServeSafe Sanitation training.
  • Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required.
  • Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position.
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a customer service role.
  • Knowledge of coffee and beverage preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares quality beverages and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that partners can locate resources and products as needed.
  • Contributes to a positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in partner morale and performance and communicating them to the supervisor.
  • Delivers legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer-first attitude and connecting with the customer; discovers and responds to customer needs.
  • Assists in new partner training by positively reinforcing successful performance.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
  • Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating the environment and customers for cues.
  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the store operating to standards.
  • Follows health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
