About The Position

In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment, ensuring that customers feel welcomed and appreciated during their visits. Your primary goal will be to promote customer loyalty by treating customers and employees fairly and ethically, while fostering an inclusive work environment. You will be expected to demonstrate the company's core values, which include respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. This position requires you to have excellent customer service skills, and while previous comparable experience is desired, it is not mandatory. You will create an inviting atmosphere by answering customer inquiries regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store. It is essential to gain and maintain knowledge of the products available, enabling you to respond effectively to questions and make informed suggestions. Collaboration with fellow associates is crucial to achieving company and store goals, and you will be expected to promote teamwork in all your interactions. Your responsibilities will also include preparing beverage selections according to recipes and customer requests, using the proper equipment, and processing transactions following company best practices. You will have the opportunity to offer product samples to customers, helping them discover new items and informing them about coffee shop specials. Ensuring that customers receive fresh products in the correct portion sizes is vital to prevent shrinkage. You will recommend coffee shop items to customers, ensuring they get the products they want and need. Additionally, you will be responsible for using all equipment in the coffee shop, including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens, in accordance with company guidelines. You will prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise, while also checking product quality to ensure freshness and reviewing sell-by dates. Proper use of kitchen equipment, such as the espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer, is essential. You will label, stock, and inventory department merchandise, report any discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager, and stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads. Safety is a top priority, and you will reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying store management. Adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines is mandatory. You will practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of any items needing repair. In the event of customer or employee accidents, you will notify management and report all safety risks, issues, or illegal activities, including robbery, theft, or fraud, to store management.
