STARBASE Deputy Director
About The Position
The Deputy Director is responsible for assisting the Director in managing policies, directives, regulations, and procedures to ensure that students are provided the proper learning environment that meets the approved curriculum and mission of STARBASE North Carolina. Provides instructional leadership to ensure high standards of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) instruction and foster a positive and energetic school climate. Starbase Location: Wilmington This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits, including paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, retirement, and health insurance.
Requirements
- This is an INTERNAL POSTING open ONLY to current employees of the NC Department of Public Safety and eligible RIF candidates.
- Temporary employees are also eligible to apply.
- Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in personnel, budgeting, research or administrative management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Experience in basic principles, theories of education, and instructional methods techniques
- Experience planning, assigning, or supervising the work of staff or instructors
