  • Safely manage STAR vehicles and maintain Defensive Driving Certification.
  • Assist mental health clinicians on calls and in the mental health assessment and referral process.
  • Initiate Basic Life Support (BLS) procedures and perform assessments according to protocols.
  • Document every STAR call and communicate effectively with dispatch and other agencies.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of EMS experience with patient care
  • EMTB-EMT Basic certification in Colorado
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License (Class R)
  • Experience in mental health support
  • Knowledge of Denver Health EMT-Basic Protocols
  • Familiarity with Advanced Life Support resources
