Standardized Patients (SPs) serve WashU Medicine under the supervision of the Immersive Learning Center. SPs are an important part of the education of health profession learners. SPs are individuals trained to portray the personal history, physical symptoms, emotional characteristics, and everyday concerns of a patient during simulated provider-patient encounters for the training and assessment of healthcare students. SPs are trained to assess communication skills and to provide constructive written and verbal feedback. SPs work in a part-time, as needed position. Available dates and hours of work are determined by curricular needs.
