About The Position

The Stand Up Forklift Operator position is responsible for various tasks within the warehouse, primarily focusing on the unloading and transferring of items, inventory control, and loading trailers based on customer specifications. The role requires adherence to FIFO (First In, First Out) requirements and involves operating forklifts in a cold and wet environment. Operators will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in their work area and ensuring the safe operation of equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-year experience in loading and receiving with a minimum of 6 months of stand-up/sit-down forklift operations.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.
• Willingness to work any shift, weekends, and some holidays.
• Ability to work in a very cold (33 F) and wet environment.
• Reading with comprehension.
• Proficient in basic math.
• Knowledge of operating RF scan guns.
• Operation of stand-up/sit-down forklift.

Responsibilities

• Unload live and drop trailers and transfer items to various stockrooms.
• Feed production lines based on customer specifications and FIFO requirements.
• Perform stock rotations within stockrooms and conduct special counts/cycle counts as needed.
• Pick orders and load trailers according to customer freshness rules and trailer load configurations.
• Use RF scan guns to capture the movement of items within the warehouse.
• Ensure cleanliness of the work area and equipment used.
• Report any mishaps/accidents immediately and recommend process or safety improvements.
