About The Position

As a Stamping Manufacturing Engineer for JD Horicon Works located between Milwaukee and Madison, WI, you will lead engineering improvement activities related to capacity, productivity, and efficiency for stamping machines and related processes. You will establish routings, methods, layouts, part quoting, costs, and labor standards for new and existing stamped components. Additionally, you will provide hands-on engineering support, machine/process troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts for current manufacturing operations. Your role will also involve driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes through cost reduction, quality enhancement, safety, and ergonomic initiatives, as well as leading analysis, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes, technology, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably with an emphasis on sheet metal stamping and metal forming processes.
  • Deep understanding of shop floor operations and fabrication.
  • Strong background in incentive pay systems, work measurement, and labor standard development.
  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for sheet metal parts.
  • Capital budgeting and equipment justification experience.
  • Effective communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) proficiency for tooling and layout design.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of sheet metal stamping tooling and processes.
  • Experience in tooling design for metal forming applications.
  • Understands the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP); new product programs or similar programs.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control processes, total preventative maintenance, and facilities.
  • Background in project management and/or maintenance engineering.
