A stagehand performs tasks involving physical labor for various live production projects. This includes both large and small traditional theatrical spaces, convention centers, outdoor venues, concert arenas, film sets, theatrical performances, sporting events, graduations and rock shows. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools. Stagehands are usually skilled in multiple disciplines, including rigging, carpentry, stage electrics, stage lighting, audio/projection, wardrobe and props. Stagehands are often responsible for operating the systems and performing cues during shows or taping and also for the repair and maintenance of equipment.
