About the Role Spiegelworld is looking for a Stage Technician to join the team at the Hook within Caesars in Atlantic City. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical theater background and be capable of working across all technical departments within a theatrical production. These departments include lighting, sound, carpentry and wardrobe. The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as a swing, stepping in as needed to cover various technical positions, and ensuring smooth cue tracks throughout the show. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, flexible, professional, and ready to learn. Experience with lighting, audio, and/or automation console operation and programming is a plus. The ability to work effectively in a team setting is crucial. This position reports to the Crew Chief. This is a full-time position that pays $39-$40/hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years experience as a Theatrical Technician, operating on large productions.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of technical theater operations, including lighting, sound, carpentry, and wardrobe.
• Familiarity with basic lighting programming concepts and the ability to navigate lighting control systems.
• Experience with DMX, and TCP/IP networking preferred.
• Working knowledge of standard office software (word processing and spreadsheets).
• OSHA 10 General Industry certificated completed in compliance with state law.
• Applicant should be comfortable working safely on a ladder or personnel lift.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; Must be team-oriented and self-motivated;
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an always changing, never dull, creative environment that creates memorable moments;

• Work is performed in a high volume professional food service and theater environment.

• Must be able to perform physical tasks including (but not limited to) standing, kneeling, crouching - sometimes for extended periods of time
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Able to carry 50lbs.
• Comfortable working at height.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a swing technician, providing coverage for technical positions across all departments, including lighting, sound, carpentry (includes automation and rigging), and wardrobe.
• Learn and master the technical aspects of the show, including cue tracks and timing, to seamlessly fill in for absent technicians.

• Collaborate closely with the technical team to maintain a high standard of production quality.
• Assist with the set-up, operation, and maintenance of technical equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and safely.
• Run cue tracks during performances, ensuring precise execution and timing of technical elements, such as lighting changes, sound effects, and set movements.
• Quickly adapt to changes and adjustments in the production, working closely with stage management to ensure a smooth transition.
• Learn and perform basic lighting programming tasks, such as creating and modifying cues.
• Learn and perform audio console operation for run of show
• Learn and perform basic automation programming tasks, such as creating and modifying cues.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager
