OVERVIEW The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) is an MLS soccer club serving the greater Los Angeles area. LAFC is invested in the world’s game and Los Angeles, constructing, and developing the 22,000 seat BMO Stadium and a top-flight training center on the campus of Cal-State Los Angeles. POSITION SUMMARY The Stage Manager will serve as a member of the Los Angeles Football Club Match-day Presentation department, supporting the coordination and execution of live game and event production. This role is responsible for assisting with all assigned elements of match presentation, entertainment, and in-stadium operations for BMO stadium as well as other occasional offsite events.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree or current College/Grad School student preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working in live sports entertainment, TV/Film production, live event management, or other relevant production/coordination experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of professional soccer; experience with matchday presentation/operations is a plus.
  • Must be proactive, organized, and resourceful with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize efficiently and quickly.
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to professionally communicate and interact with guests and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong team-player; “above and beyond” work ethic and mentality.
  • Ability to stand/walk/lift with limited assistance for a minimum of 6 hours.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as the event calendar requires.
  • Must be able to commit to 80% or more LAFC home games.
  • Matchday Presentation crew are not required to work all home games – games are scheduled on a rotating basis amongst the pool of employees.

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production and operational support to the Match Producer and Match-day Presentation department for all LAFC home games, LAFC 2 matches, and other scheduled events.
  • Assist and participate in rehearsals, including sound checks (microphones and communication devices), camera blocking, and staging.
  • Assist with all production elements such as, but not limited to, in-match promotions, halftime activities, ceremonies, special effects, performances, and on-field experiences.
  • Prepare, manage, maintain, and collect equipment, props, and other materials used throughout games and events.
  • Promptly report any issues, defects, or feedback to production management.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Producer and production team to coordinate and cue live talent, guests, participants, and honorees for in-game entertainment elements.
  • Represent the Match-day Presentation team and serve as a liaison to other departments, such as Matchday Operations, to coordinate timing and communicate details related to on-field activations.
  • Communicate promptly and proactively with match officials to relay substitutions, injuries, and stoppage time to television, public address, and the Match Producer.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently, communicating any changes to scripted elements to the Producer.
  • Provide consistent updates regarding rundowns, scripts, and timing to relevant staff, talent, guests, and camera operators.
  • Coordinate with vendors, talent, players, executives, celebrities, and guests to execute both scripted and unscripted elements professionally, following direction from the Lead Producer.
  • Ensure all pre-game, in-game, and post-game presentation elements are executed accurately and on schedule.
  • Clearly communicate instructions for all interactive and experiential activities to participants.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and precautions are followed for participants, particularly for on-field activities, including the use of safety equipment and completion of required waivers.
  • Source and secure contestants as needed; escort talent, guests, participants, and staff as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management.
