About The Position

The Stage Manager (Casual) at Denison University will work closely with the production manager at the Eisner Center to support rehearsals, concerts, and performances. This role is essential in ensuring that over 100 performances per year run smoothly, efficiently, and safely, while also serving as a resource for student production staff.

Requirements

• At least one year of documented experience working professionally in music, dance, and/or theatre production.
• Ability to learn and retain Eisner Center procedures.
• Ability to pick up light and sound console use with training.

Nice To Haves

• Two plus years of documented experience working professionally in music, dance, and/or theatre production.
• Experience stage managing live events.
• Experience with teaching/training.
• Intermediate knowledge of light and digital audio consoles.
• Facility with college-aged students.

Responsibilities

• Run performances and rehearsals in multiple performance spaces.
• Assist paid student staff members working as stagehands and operating light and audio consoles.
• Help students follow their checklists and assist with questions related to technical and procedural matters.
• Aid in problem-solving during live events as necessary.
• Interpret advance information provided by the production manager and address specific show needs and potential complications.
• Complete performance and rehearsal reports to communicate production details.
