About The Position

The Production department works through the Program Office team to bring artist and creator visions to life by providing audio and visual production support. There are multiple events each day; events can include music and orchestral productions, visual presentations, special functions, lectures, conferences, and meetings. Shift start times vary from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. About Your Work Day Ensuring that the production needs of all events in the Amphitheater are efficiently and adequately delivered. Assist in the setting up and tearing down of equipment for all performances and rehearsals. Under the supervision of the Production Managers assist in planning the allocation of production equipment resources. Care and maintenance of the facility. Ensuring that all aspects of the facility and resources are maintained and kept in pristine condition. Including cleaning, checking inventory, organization, and preventative maintenance. Assist additional production crews as needed across all Institution properties. Work professionally alongside local Unions, touring technicians, and guests. Interacting professionally with all individuals who comprise the Chautauqua community, including fellow crew members, on-stage performers/presenters, and CI guests attending events, ensuring a positive experience for all. Reports directly to the Amphitheater Production Manager and subsequently the Program Production Manager.

  • Chautauqua Institution will provide a $500 referral bonus (less taxes) for active employees referring a new candidate who is hired and remains employed for at least 90-days from the first physical date of work. In the case of seasonal positions working less than 6-months, the new candidate must remain actively employed for at least 30-days from the first physical date of work and until the closing date of the season. The closing date of the season is the last Sunday in August.
