The Staffing Specialist is responsible for collaborating with unit-based leaders to adjust staffing levels in response to call-ins and assess unit needs in real-time. This role involves reallocating staff as needed, notifying staff of changes or new assignments, and assisting unit leaders in balancing 6-week staff schedules prior to publishing. The Staffing Specialist will also contact staff to address unanticipated coverage needs, partner with CNO or Nurse Managers to monitor staffing utilization patterns, and maintain accurate records of all schedule changes using designated software. Additionally, the role includes reviewing requests for incentives and travel staff, coordinating with unit leaders to address staffing-related bed closures, and supporting overflow unit operations. The position requires strict adherence to patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
