About the position

Hendricks Community Hospital Association is seeking a qualified individual to join our team! The position involves performing professional assessments and coordination of care needed for the residents. The individual will provide supervision, scheduling, direction, and education to CNA staff, overseeing the entire operation of their assigned staff to ensure quality care. Flexibility in hours is required as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and organizes activities on the floor to ensure resident needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and nursing home administrative procedure.
  • Develops and maintains staff schedule for all RN, LPN, TMA, and CNA staff.
  • Interview, select and evaluate the performance of CNA staff to provide for professional development and maximize contributions toward established goals.
  • Ensures a written job description and comprehensive orientation plan is maintained for each position under his/her supervision.
  • Assists with ensuring adequate staffing during the day and the next two (2) shifts.
  • Participates in weekend and holiday call rotation.
  • Provides direct supervision to all CNA and TMA employees. Monitors care given and assumes responsibility. Will implement corrective action as needed in a timely manner.
  • Will complete performance appraisals for CNA staff at least annually, more often as needed.
  • Consults with DON on care or performance issues and interpretation of nursing home policies to ensure resident needs are met.
  • Recognizes and coordinates need for orientation and in-service training for unit staff members and participates in guidance and educational programs.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled CNA staff meetings.
  • Actively participates in QAPI and Risk Management.
  • Participates in the Interdisciplinary Team Process. Reports back to staff the outcomes of team meetings.

Requirements

  • Certified Nursing Assistant with Medication Aid training with active certification in the state of Minnesota or graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed in good standing as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
  • Experience in geriatric healthcare.
  • Strong leadership, initiative, and judgment skills.
  • Experience with computer programs, including Microsoft Office and other clinical documentation programs preferred.
