About The Position

Iris Memory Care of Nichols Hills is a small assisted living community that specializes in the care of seniors living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. We have the capacity for 58 residents. We are looking for a Certified Medication Aide to work as the Staffing Coordinator for our team. This is a full-time, salaried position with some shifts as a set schedule and some shifts fluctuating based on staffing needs. There will be an expectation that the staffing coordinator work at least 3 shifts on the floor per week. The rate of pay ranges from $22-$25 per hour, and there is a bonus potential of up to $300 per pay period if staffing goals are met. Must be a Certified Medication Aide with active certification on the OK Nurse Aide Registry. This is a requirement of the position. The staffing coordinator is responsible for managing caregiver staffing schedule to ensure facility is fully staffed to meet the needs of the Residents. He/she also assists in planning, organizing, developing and coordinating orientation on all new caregiver Team Members.

Requirements

  • Minimum two to four years experience in working with older adults
  • Twelve (12) plus years of education preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 18 years old
  • Must be a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) with active certification on the OK Nurse Aide Registry
  • Ability/willingness to perform all position responsibilities adequately.
  • Organizes and utilizes time appropriately toward accomplishing assigned tasks; requires minimal supervision.
  • Displays good grooming, personal appearance, and follows dress code requirements.
  • Displays mature behavior and attitude in speech and action.
  • Works cooperatively with management.
  • Displays willingness to assist co-workers when situation requires.
  • Ability to communicate and work with all levels of IRIS Team Members and IRIS Department Managers effectively.
  • Ability to recognize and communicate problems appropriately.
  • Willingness to adhere to the IRIS principles in provided services.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective training skills.
  • Ability to relate to the public, Residents, families, staff, other professionals appropriately.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; 35 pounds regularly.
  • Routinely requires pushing, pulling, bending, walking, reaching, and stooping.
  • Ability to organize their time and follow-up with the ability to perform job tasks efficiently
  • Ability to teach/train others effectively.
  • Demonstrates as a team player with a positive attitude; able to work with IRIS Team Members and IRIS ownership/management staff.
  • Maintains car in good working order, current driver’s license in good standing, and auto insurance meeting company minimums is current.

Responsibilities

  • Interview and orient new caregiver Team Members to Iris Senior Living, their department and position.
  • Manage monthly compliance requirements (TB tests, Competency Checklists, License Expirations, etc.)
  • Be available for On Call rotation as required.
  • Participates in all staff development programs to expand and develop abilities.
  • Partner with Human Resources to ensure smooth onboarding and orientation of new hire.
  • Provides oversight to staff when the Wellness Director and/or the Executive Director is absent, as assigned.
  • Reviews staff schedules and service delivery tasks with Executive Director/Wellness Director.
  • Assists with activities of daily living/ADL’s, environmental orientation, dining services, life enrichment programs, laundry and housekeeping, meal services, and other care services assigned, while encouraging self-care and independence.
  • Assists with transportation of Residents to dining room for meal service and/or to activity programs.
  • Receives and gives report from the previous shift and to the next shift.
  • Reviews and carries out task assignments with the Wellness Director/Designated Supervisor.
  • Reads the staff communication records and maintains familiarity with Resident records as required.
  • Assists with orientation of new staff to job responsibilities.
  • Provides services as indicated on Resident assessment, task sheets, and service plans
  • Offers comfort and support, emotionally and physically, to Residents.
