About The Position
The Staffing & Bed Placement Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health plays a crucial role in ensuring that staffing and scheduling needs are met efficiently and effectively. The coordinator must demonstrate proficiency in these systems, which includes approving absence and work schedule requests, posting and approving shift opportunities, generating new schedules, and ensuring that all timecards are accurate and complete. The ability to work with technology, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, is essential for maintaining staffing files, preparing reports, and conducting audits efficiently. In addition to staffing responsibilities, the coordinator executes bed management functions across multiple hospital computer systems, ensuring that beds are assigned to incoming admissions in accordance with established policies and procedures. This includes preparing and distributing bed status reports to executive staff and medical leadership, as well as performing ongoing assessments to anticipate patient needs based on volume or specialty requirements. The coordinator interacts with various stakeholders, including medical staff and physician offices, to facilitate patient admissions and transfers, ensuring that all necessary information is communicated in a timely manner.
