About The Position

The position involves assisting in the coordination of staffing coverage and staffing data according to department policy and procedure. The role requires managing staffing needs for clinical units, ensuring that staffing guidelines and contractual language are adhered to, and maintaining accurate documentation of staffing activities.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Other computer and/or technical education.
  • Previous staffing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and balance staffing needs for clinical units using established staffing guidelines.
  • Assess available staff for assigned units within established timelines and complete all unit assignments.
  • Float staff according to established guidelines.
  • Determine vacancies and complete calls to employees/agencies as needed to fill open shifts.
  • Provide preliminary needs and final names to CSO/LSO per guidelines.
  • Cancel employees/agencies personnel according to policy.
  • Notify unit/manager/Admin. Liaison/Director if unable to fill vacancies.
  • Provide a list of supply needs bi-weekly to designated person.
  • Restock paper, replace ink jets, and contact maintenance for all equipment as needed.
  • Keep work areas clean and free of non-work equipment.
  • Utilize ergonomic equipment safely.
  • Report malfunctioning equipment and safety hazards.
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate daily plan sheets.
  • Document accurate information in One-Staff and on Plan Sheet.
  • Communicate staffing activities, outcomes, and changes to team members.
  • Give constructive feedback to peers/employees regarding work performance.
  • Provide requested information to employees, floats, travelers, and registry personnel.
  • Identify and document learning needs of staff/peers.
