About The Position

Our Sensors Test Engineering team in Burnsville Minnesota is seeking a Staff Technician to join our team of experienced engineers and technicians supporting production. As a member of our team, you will lead in building and assembling innovative test solutions supporting both commercial and defense sensor products. In this role, you will be exposed to a wide variety of test solutions at various stages of their life cycle. A successful candidate will be a fast learner with the ability to respond to requests efficiently, have a strong background in both electrical and mechanical test system build and assembly, and a curiosity to troubleshoot and solve test equipment problems.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • 6+ years as a technician supporting assembly and or testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in building complex cable assemblies, test boxes, and assemblies of test systems for the aviation industry (military specification, AS9100)
  • Proficient knowledge reviewing and editing engineering schematics and wire lists, and Minnesota State Electrical codes and statues to pass inspection.
  • Proficient knowledge of tools, testing equipment, soldering, and crimping (hand, electric, pneumatic).
  • Demonstrates clear communication and mentorship skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead developing, integrating, and testing electrical components, and equipment systems as well as resolving day-to-day technical problems by troubleshooting electrical devices problems on the production line.
  • Lead in the building of test hardware (cables, boxes, system racks, etc.) and test solutions per engineering drawings.
  • Create and review test system designs and documentation with engineering to meet customer requirements. Will work in updating documentation (drawings, schematics, BOM, classification) or providing markups of new and existing test hardware.
  • You will provide guidance for engineering regarding prototype design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • You will work in a collaborative team environment and be able to communicate effectively with engineers, operators, and technicians.
  • You will lead in orienting, training, and inspecting the work of fellow technical employees.
