At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard - from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features. Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale. The Role The Autonomous Vehicle (AV) organization is dedicated to advancing the development of autonomous vehicles through cutting-edge simulation technologies and novel iterative development processes. The Software Validation organization holds end-to-end accountability for every capability and feature spanning the autonomy software system. As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) supporting the Software Validation team within the Autonomous Vehicle (AV) organization, you will play a critical role in validation strategy, planning and execution for GM’s autonomous driving program. You will work cross-functionally with multiple teams (embodied AI, simulation, testing, product, safety, and systems) to define clear milestones, de-risk dependencies, drive alignment, and execute projects efficiently. The ideal candidate is both technical and execution-driven, builds trust and confidence with partners quickly, and has experience in AV software verification and validation.

  • Partner with Software Validation Systems Engineers to break down requirements and technical specs into achievable implementation roadmaps, including planning timelines, key milestones, and identification of cross-team dependencies
  • Collaborate with multiple, cross functional engineering teams on critical, technical areas to deliver requirements / guidance for long-lead validation areas
  • Align with leaders and engineers from embodied AI, simulation, testing, product, safety, and systems and drive development and execution on validation roadmaps and initiatives, to achieve program goals
  • Build trust and strong relationships with partner teams to collaborate and execute efficiently
  • Proactively identify technical / program risks and blockers across the AV organization—and drives mitigations, including escalating to program leadership when necessary
  • Define and track KPIs, program metrics, and validation milestones to ensure timely delivery of engineering achievements
  • Lead program reviews with technical and executive stakeholders across organizations
  • BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of engineering and technical program management experience
  • A track record of successfully managing technically complex, cross-functional programs
  • Strong systems thinking with ability to expose and mitigate risks
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of switching between high-level leadership summaries and detailed technical discussions
  • Ability to adapt and operate under ambiguity
  • Familiarity with Agile program delivery, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, and technical development workflows
  • Demonstrated experience in data, AI/ML, robotics, or autonomous systems
  • Exposure to verifying and validating software and systems
  • Ability to develop, inspire and motivate team
