The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. The Infrastructure Engineering TPM Organization is seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager to lead multiple cross-functional technical programs while driving operational best practices. This role will play a key role in helping define and drive strategy, working with various cross-functional teams to manage program roadmaps and execution plans. Program scope can include new infrastructure product rollouts to compliance initiatives to ensure LinkedIn applies and upholds best practices in data governance. This Staff Technical Program Manager will partner with engineering leaders to own a portfolio of products and services that allow applications at LinkedIn to store, access/query, process and manage data. These include massive-scale distributed data systems, pub/sub and streaming technologies, DataLake storage and batch data processing systems. In addition to strong technical knowledge, the ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced rapidly evolving environment, be passionate about solving ambiguous problems, have a bias towards action and have the aptitude to drive the strategic vision and execution of our transformative initiatives around Infrastructure.

  • Support multiple cross-functional technical teams in delivering their objectives across fast-paced, complex data infrastructure and compliance initiatives
  • Plan and set execution priorities and roadmaps to align technical and operational decisions.
  • Develop strong partnerships with engineering and product management leaders to drive focus on strategic and tactical program objectives
  • Drive new organization-wide programs to ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability of the data ecosystem including compliance, data governance and operational excellence.
  • Drive alignments and prioritization across all technology initiatives, manage roadmap for a single consistent view and lead communications
  • Build strategic relationships with key technology and business leaders to ensure program success
  • Drive teams and individuals in planning and executing roadmaps, releases, and work backlogs
  • Lead efforts to identify risks, resolve key project conflicts, and establish appropriate resolution paths
  • Fill in gaps across roles and functions as needed, performing as an adaptive problem solver
  • Report on project status or portfolio roadmap, risks, issues and mitigation plans
  • Create a collaborative work environment that fosters shared understanding, transparency, mastery, autonomy, innovation and continuous learning
  • Coach and mentor others in the best practices of modern planning and execution
  • B.S./B.A. Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years professional experience in an engineering or technical team, managing technical programs/projects
  • Experience with infrastructure, data infrastructure, and/or AI platforms
  • Past software engineering experience
  • Experience managing company wide, large scale, high impact programs
  • Proven success on establishing organization-wide processes and communication framework for R&D initiatives
  • Direct work experience in a technical project management capacity to drive large technical initiatives including all aspects of process development and execution
  • Knowledge of complex technical ecosystems and adequate technical depth
  • Experience managing multiple major and concurrent projects/programs executed through multiple geographic locations
  • Direct experience working with software engineering leadership, technical teams and individual contributors
  • Ability to quickly adapt to faster pace, shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • The pay range for this role is $139,000 to $229,000.
  • Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
  • This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
  • The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
