We’re searching for a Staff Technical Program Manager - Hardware NPI. In this role, you will The HW NPI TPM will be responsible for providing planning, coordination and execution support for the HW NPI team. This individual will work closely with design engineering, internal manufacturing, purchasing, supply-chain and the contract manufacturer.

Requirements

  • Experience managing engineering changes in short schedule development cycle
  • Experience with developing safety critical hardware, bonus points for experience in robotics, automotive, or the aerospace/defense industry.
  • Experience with launching new hardware products to market and managing hardware product life cycles.
  • Strong technical understanding of MFG processes
  • Strong PLM experience with tools such as Arena
  • Experience with project management tools such as Smartsheets, MS Project, etc.
  • Experience with task management tools such as Jira, Jira Tools, Confluence, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 7 years experience managing complex hardware development programs and manufacturing processes
  • Preferred experience with moving prototype products to High Volume Manufacturing and/or new line bring up in Asia
  • Experience in a safety critical hardware industry (aerospace/defense, automotive, medical devices, etc)
  • Experience with the full product lifecycle (including development, verification, and market introduction)
  • Experience with AV or robotics
  • Experience and familiarity with the Agile development methodology (no certification is required)

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, execution, and management of day-to-day actions for HW modules (lidar, computer, pods etc.) with regard to their readiness for manufacturing, communicate with CM on each program and drive escalation regarding items/schedule.
  • Partner with the development, systems, and safety technical leads to represent activities at the relevant cross-functional meetings.
  • Pro-actively schedule meetings or discussions with cross-functional partners to help unblock the engineering teams for MFG readiness.
  • Act as a liaison between MFG/ and the development teams regarding all items which are related to the product launch at CM and internal MFG
  • Track and communicate MFG items/documentation for our OEMs and customers
  • Provide MFG readiness status updates, risk assessments, and mitigation plans for weekly hardware program reviews and updates
  • Run Change Control Board for HW products from B sample on, and manage all change request schedule/execution
