We are looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager to lead the execution and scale of GM's enterprise Global Manufacturing & Industrial IT programs. In this highly cross-functional and strategic role, you will drive complex Global Cloud and Compute Services IT initiatives from concept through delivery, partnering with technical, business, and executive stakeholders. You will shape the roadmap, governance, and change management practices required to drive responsible, scalable, and high-impact Global Cloud and Compute transformation across the company.

  • Translate corporate strategy into actionable technical roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables, and lead end-to-end execution of strategic Global Cloud and Compute IT initiatives across multiple business units and technical domains, driving cross-functional alignment and sustained momentum to deliver on quality and on time
  • Support implementation of fault-tolerant, highly available architectures
  • Own program planning, dependency mapping, critical-path analysis, and risk management; maintain a visible RAID log (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) with clear owners, due dates, and mitigation plans.
  • Partner with product, engineering, research, and business stakeholders to scope and deliver enterprise-scale Global Cloud and Compute IT programs, from pilot to production
  • Operationalize Global Cloud and Compute IT governance by embedding compliance, ethical Global Cloud and Compute IT standards, and responsible usage across initiatives
  • Champion Global Cloud and Compute IT best practices in development workflows, change management, and product lifecycle
  • Influence enterprise infrastructure and storage investments to support Global Cloud and Compute IT model development, evaluation, and deployment at scale
  • Exhibit clear and concise communication to all levels, showcasing professionalism through compelling presentations that utilize storytelling and metrics to display project progress and insights. Communicate status, issues, risks, impacts effectively and in an unbiased, action-based manner. Provide all relevant metrics of progress, status and actions.
  • Serve as the escalation point for all program-related issues, bottlenecks, and risks - owning resolution and ensuring momentum.
  • Ensure data engineering work is accurately reflected in tools like Jira and Align, maintaining transparency and accountability.
  • Mentor and guide program team members, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency.
  • 10+ years of experience in program management or engineering leadership, driving initiatives within technically complex systems
  • BS or MS degree in an Engineering-related discipline OR equivalent work experience
  • Strong engineering background, including the ability to contribute meaningfully to architectural decisions, the evaluation of technical trade-offs, and solution design
  • Extensive experience in the automotive and industrial sectors, with a strong focus on multi-cloud solutions such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services
  • Hands-on familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
  • Knowledge of cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or serverless computing
  • Knowledge of cloud governance compliance and security policies
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale, cross-functional hardware or software programs in complex enterprise environments
  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and effectively
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a passion for fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration
  • Expertise in program management methodologies (Agile, hybrid, scaled delivery models) and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct critical-path analysis, tradeoff discussions, and executive-ready program communications.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; comfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority and build trust across diverse teams.
  • Must be able to travel 10% of the time
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MBA with technical focus
  • Proven track record in implementing and managing cloud transformation, multi-cloud solutions, and ensuring seamless integration of new technologies
  • Prior leadership of Cloud transformation programs within a Fortune 500 or high-growth tech company
  • Experience in leading full program portfolios for an engineering team
  • Company Vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate.
