This individual leads, plans, synthesizes ambiguous or conflicting requirements and performs the complex responsibility of the leveraging of advanced Modem knowledge to design, implement, verify, validate, and commercialize Wireless WAN (or cellular) modem air interface RAN technologies software by working on Modem access stratum, optimizations & algorithms to define the modem IP architecture, HW APIs, core systems algorithms, and HW/SW/co-processor architecture. Works on critical transceiver, HW control, and wireless Radio Access Stratum software implementation of a multi-RAT (Radio Access Technology) from industry specifications (most notably 3GPP with LTE and 5GNR). Leverages advanced knowledge of RF and/or WWAN L1/L2/L3 specifications and efficiently implements the shared resources of a multi-mode modem using C/C++. Works on cutting-edge NR5G network technologies, such as NR5G Beam Management, by developing and implementing beam management algorithms to establish and maintain efficient communication links. Designs efficient data structures and algorithms for resource-limited WWAN modem. Conducts detailed analysis and collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop cost-effective, high-quality, and high-capability modem IP that meets industry and customer requirements with high performance (e.g., throughput, latency, power consumption). Develops test environments and comprehensive test plans to test and verify design for a module and validates modems against specifications. Writes detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions for complex WWAN modem software projects to guide users and/or customers to use or understand content. Acts as a strong contributor at design reviews and project meetings and communicates and implements a development plan.
