Agile Product Systems Engineer - GMD Fire Control Threat Algorithms Onsite in Huntsville, AL Target salary range: $120,000 - $200,000.00 This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.) Serve as the Agile Product Owner for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System’s Fire Control Threat Algorithms team, guiding development through technical evaluation, analysis, and closure of algorithm features and stories.

  • Act as Product Owner for the Threat State Algorithms & Analysis Agile team within GMD Fire Control (GFC).
  • Define, refine, and validate features and sprint stories, ensuring closure criteria are met before completion.
  • Lead and perform technical analysis to evaluate algorithm candidates for new capabilities.
  • Conduct performance analysis, data analysis, and modeling to validate algorithm designs prior to software implementation.
  • Coordinate closely with systems engineers and algorithm developers to ensure technical alignment.
  • Utilize MATLAB, Python, and other modeling tools to prototype and validate algorithm behavior.
  • Interpret and work with legacy code written in Ada to inform analysis and integration efforts.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Active Secret Clearance required
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM from an accredited institution and 8+ years of experience (6+ with Master’s; 4+ with PhD)
  • Background in algorithm development, performance analysis, or data analysis
  • Familiarity with algorithm domains such as: Track Processing Track Reporting Discrimination Propagation 6D Covariance Propagation / Prediction
  • Experience with: MATLAB, Python, or similar engineering tools Ada programming language (reading/understanding)
  • High proficiency in solving technical problems and integrating complex solutions
  • Deep experience in Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) systems: Midcourse defense Threat state processing Weapon-target assignment
  • Proficiency in applying advanced mathematics: Numerical Analysis Linear Algebra Probability/Statistics
  • Extensive experience developing tools in MATLAB and Python
  • Comfortable performing root cause analysis on large-scale software systems
  • Familiarity with Atlassian toolsets (Jira, Confluence)
  • High comfort level with Ada programming for algorithm logic
