About The Position

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Staff SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Austin, Texas to: Design code and systems for scalability, security, and reusability. Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings. Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads. Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions. Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now Pay Later Technology. Works with product owners to gather and refine requirements for one product, adding and taking into account existing tools and solutions across departments. Develops and designs moderately advanced architect solutions that are robust and scalable, considering integrations with other solutions across the internal technical ecosystem. Provides domain expertise on the development of user documentation of solutions and implements standard processes in user documentation. Plays a significant role in the development and delivery of new features within a product from end-to-end. Position requires up to 10% domestic and international travel. Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Requirements

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineering-related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineering-related occupation.
Position requires experience in the following:
Developing front-end code (e.g. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) in support of package and product development.
User interface design, including how to provide optimal industrial design experience.
Developing back-end (e.g. Python, Java) code in support of package and product development.
Developing and utilizing Application Program Interfaces (APIs), protocols, and tools for building software applications.
Using database software (e.g., applications, web-based applications, information systems) to maintain, modify, and output data.
Applying systems integration process, including separately combining components and subsystems to address interactions.
Data structures, including data organization, management, and storage formats that enable efficient access and modifications.
Developing large scale, enterprise class distributed system or subsystems that require high availability, low latency, & strong data consistency computing.
Distributed caching technologies like Redis.
