About our Team: Micron’s Materials Quality team plays a critical role in enabling the success of new technology nodes and high-volume manufacturing (HVM) by ensuring supplier quality readiness and robust material qualification processes. We collaborate cross-functionally with Technology Development (TD), Global Procurement, Operations, and HVM fabs to drive quality excellence across the semiconductor supply chain. Position Overview: This position will act as a primary liaison for our U.S. fabs, supporting material categories through both the Technology Development phase and High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM) in Categories Wetchem & CMP. You will be responsible for defining strategies, implementing quality initiatives, and advancing supplier quality development using Shift Left strategies. The role demands strong cross-functional collaboration, technical risk assessment, and strategic leadership to ensure supplier compliance, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement in material quality and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in supplier quality, materials engineering, or semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting supplier audits, risk assessments, and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), DOE, and quality systems such as ISO standards.
  • Strong communication and project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Bulk Chemistries for Cleans & CMP for semiconductor application.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline or quality-related certification (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma).
  • Familiarity on Supplier Requirements Standards (SRS) and Shift-Left Strategy.
  • Proven track record in supplier digitalization initiatives and global issue prevention programs.
  • Experience supporting technology transfer and FOAK material strategies in a global manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with TD teams on FOAK materials quality readiness, supplier quality programs, and specification definition to support new technology node development.
  • Participate in FOAK materials sourcing strategies, including business continuity, benchmarking, new market evaluations, and quality capability assessments.
  • Support cross-fab technology transfer activities and drive supplier quality programs for new, unique, different, and difficult materials.
  • Lead Category Strategy Team meetings to cascade lessons learned from HVM to R&D and align on FOAK strategy.
  • Lead quality risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies during sourcing, selection, and qualification phases.
  • Conduct technical risk audits for new suppliers and materials to evaluate HVM readiness.
  • Provide quality-focused input on global sourcing and segmentation strategies, including RFQ/RFI processes and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Establish and enforce compliance with Micron’s Supplier Requirements Standards (SRS).
  • Define and align global material specifications and support Category Quality Strategy development.
  • Implement quality programs, conduct benchmarking, and facilitate regular Quality and Technical Review (QTR) meetings.
  • Manage supplier and sub-supplier changes through SCM and oversee resolution of global photochemical quality issues.
  • Collaborate with OCT, Operations, and Facilities to conduct root cause investigations and implement CAPAs.
  • Cascade lessons learned to R&D and HVM fabs to ensure closed-loop communication and global issue prevention.
  • Provide timely updates on supplier-related activities and maintain transparent communication with Global Quality, Procurement, OCT, and other teams.
  • Adjust communication cadence based on issue urgency and priority.
  • Take ownership of goals and action items, establish measurable development objectives, and leverage coaching for career growth.
  • Demonstrate initiative, accuracy, and timeliness in all assignments while continuously reflecting on performance for improvement.
  • Collaborate with global SQEs and cross-regional teams on category initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in supplier digitalization programs.
  • Build deep expertise in material criticality for semiconductor manufacturing.
