This is a full time, 40-hour position, located at MGH Main Campus. The incumbent will provide expert leadership to improve patient safety, quality outcomes, and nursing practice by leading data-driven performance improvement, reducing harm, supporting accreditation and regulatory readiness, and advancing a culture of safety and high reliability. Job Summary Responsibilities include managing programs and projects and designing, implementing, and evaluating management systems to enhance department and service operations. Assists in the development of the leadership staff. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing required
  • Master's Degree Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse, MA
  • Clinical nursing experience 2-3 years required
  • Program development/implementation and project management experience 1-2 years required
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical nursing care practices and principles.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing evidence-based care plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and within nursing.
  • Leadership abilities to provide guidance, mentorship, and education to others.
  • Strong healthcare ombudsman skills coupled with financial analytical ability.

  • Nursing leadership experience 1-2 years preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates specific projects to enhance department/service effectiveness.
  • Identifies and recommends fiscal, material, and human resource requirements for specific projects/programs.
  • Implements changes related to programs/projects, working collaboratively with nursing staff and staff of other departments.
  • Researches and investigates department/service issues and problems and collaborates with nursing and other departments in an effort to resolve issues and problems.
  • Promotes effective management of transitional phases between planned change and actual practice with leadership staff.
  • Interprets and integrates departmental values, standards, goals, policies, and procedures through ongoing programs, committee involvement, and consultation.
