About The Position

As the Staff Solutions Architect, you will drive the transformation of BECU's digital member experience by leading the design and implementation of innovative technology solutions. Your expertise will shape the future of our marketing platforms, streamline member interactions, and enable seamless collaboration across business, design, and data teams. You'll be at the forefront of major initiatives, including CMS modernization and automated pre-screening, ensuring our technology delivers real value to our members. Your leadership will empower teams, foster technical excellence, and help BECU stay ahead of industry trends. In this role, your contributions will directly impact how BECU serves its members and achieves its mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience designing and implementing technology architectures required, including experience managing delivery of multiple simultaneous complex technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in cloud native technology including microservice architecture, Restful APIs, massively scalable designs, digital platforms; experience with implementations of large-scale initiatives required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technologies and supplier capabilities and experience implementing these into new and existing large infrastructure/systems required.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern technology service architectural hosting, security, and risk management concerns, including IAM, access control, monitoring, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, and containers required.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft infrastructure and solution stacks operating in on-premise, cloud, and hybrid hosting environments required.
  • Deep understanding and experience working within Lean/Agile/Scrum methodologies required; scaled agile experience such as SAFe required.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, value propositions, and best practices for technology relevant to the in-scope capabilities required.
  • Proven experience, showcasing the ability to cultivate strong relationships throughout the organizational hierarchy required.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and negotiation skills required.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills for effectively conveying information and providing top-notch customer service required.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills with ability to convey complex technical ideas clearly and persuasively required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in LEAN, Agile/Scrum, or ITIL principles is highly preferred, with a proven track record of implementing one or more of these practices.
  • Working knowledge of architectural frameworks such as The Open Group, NIST, ISO 19xxx, BizBok, or Gartner preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Digital Transformation: Guide the Content Management System (CMS) modernization initiative, including RFP, vendor selection, and roadmap execution.
  • Architect Member-Focused Solutions: Design and implement technology solutions that enhance member experience across digital platforms, including online banking and mobile apps.
  • Own Key Projects: Take ownership of the Automated Pre Screen project, integrating Experian platform and collaborating with data teams.
  • Drive Technical Excellence: Establish and manage domain-specific architecture standards, processes, and constraints.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with business, product, design, data, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Champion Innovation: Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Manage Multiple Initiatives: Oversee simultaneous solution development efforts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with standards.
  • Support Digital Rationalization: Contribute to consolidating digital properties under one stack and support future marketing initiatives such as personalization using tools such as Adobe Target, CDP.
  • Facilitate Stakeholder Engagement: Lead discussions on business capability landscape and collaborate with production support to address architectural challenges.
