Key Responsibilities Assume ownership of full-stack architecture and implementation for scalable applications supporting more than 2 million users. Lead the migration of core functionality from the legacy GTA Platform to Walmart’s web and mobile architecture. Oversee the systematic transition of essential workflows and user interface components from the legacy JSP-based system to the new React Native application, ensuring feature parity, comprehensive testing, and readiness for a phased rollout. Provide advanced technical leadership and expertise to accelerate the adoption of the industry’s best engineering practices. Remain informed of current industry trends, technological innovations, and best practices in software engineering. What you'll do: Take ownership of full-stack architecture and implementation for scalable applications (supporting 2M+ users) by migrating Core Functionality from Legacy GTA Platform to Walmart Web-Mobile architecture. Lead the structured migration of key workflows and UI components from the legacy JSP-based system into the new React Native application, ensuring feature parity, testing coverage, and phased rollout readiness. Provide deep technical expertise and thought leadership that helps accelerate adoption of the absolute best engineering practices, while maintaining knowledge on industry innovations, trends, and practices. Play a pivotal role in shaping architectural decisions, championing scalable and efficient solutions to meet present and future needs. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to provide technical leadership and mentorship to your teammates, other teams, and engineers. Lead and participate in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, gathering requested information, writing and developing code, and conducting unit testing. Communicate status and issues to team members and stakeholders. Collaborate with project teams and cross-functional teams. Troubleshoot open issues and bug-fixes, ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs. Interact with the project manager to provide input on the project plan. Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, root cause), engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues. Formulate action plans, perform actions as designated in the plan, interpret the results to determine further action, perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues, and complete online documentation. Provide support to the business by responding to users’ questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility, implementation strategies). Facilitate resolutions and lead cross-functional partnerships. Establish Development Best Practices with Automation Define and enforce coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing strategies across the full stack. Promote code quality, maintainability, and reliability through tools like unit tests, integration tests, and static analysis.
