Staff Software Engineer (OrderAI)
About The Position
HungerRush is a leading provider of integrated restaurant technology solutions, with HungerRush 360 as its flagship cloud POS system. This system integrates digital ordering (including AI-powered text and talk ordering), delivery management, customer engagement, restaurant management, and payment processing features to provide operators with insights, control, and growth power. This Staff Engineer position focuses on full stack software development for OrderAi, HungerRush's AI-powered voice and text ordering product. The ideal candidate has experience creating customer-focused products backed by LLMs, including text and real-time voice interfaces. The role requires contribution across the full development cycle, from identifying system requirements and enhancements to coding, testing, releasing, and documenting changes. Staff Engineers are expected to foster a positive engineering culture and partner with non-technical departments by understanding broader business needs. HungerRush is embracing AI to streamline internal processes, improve decision-making, and accelerate business value delivery, seeking engineers eager to innovate and adapt within this transformation. This is a remote role.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience, recommended 10+ years
- Demonstrated ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Demonstrated success delivering SaaS, E-Commerce, or consumer-facing applications/APIs
- Deep experience with distributed systems, cloud environments (Azure preferred), and modern architectures
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies including C# and Azure
- Strong knowledge of database technologies such as SQL Server and Postgres
- Experience with Queues, Caches, CDN’s, and other technologies used for building scalable applications
Nice To Haves
- Experience with LLM prompt and context engineering, evals, and other techniques for building LLM-backed products is preferred
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with HungerRush teams to design, develop, and support existing as well as create new functionality and applications with a focus on LLM-powered features
- Write high quality code following best practices and standards for coding, compliance, security, and performance
- Contribute to software development with an emphasis on architecture, design, quality, implementation, and culture
- Utilize the latest advances in AI software development to improve effectiveness of delivering business value
- Mentor software engineers
- Help troubleshoot issues and identify bug fixes
