Staff Software Engineer

LindySan Francisco, CA
13h$200 - $280

About The Position

About Lindy Lindy is building the AI assistant for everyone else — not the tinkerers, not the builders, but the people who just want their day back. Lindy Assistant lives in iMessage, handles email, calendar, and meetings, and takes two minutes to set up. We're building the layer between powerful AI models and real people's lives. The Role As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll own high-impact projects end-to-end from concept through production, in a fast-moving environment where engineers focus on building a great product. You'll work across our codebase alongside a small, highly autonomous team, shipping multiple times a day. This is a role for someone who finds intrinsic motivation in building, moves fast without cutting corners, and measures success by what's live in production.

Requirements

  • You have deep full-stack engineering experience and a track record of shipping customer-facing features in a high-growth environment
  • You default to action over process - you'd rather ship something imperfect and iterate than spend weeks perfecting an abstraction nobody's tested in the real world
  • You're genuinely autonomous: you know your top priority, why it matters, what's next, and you don't wait for a meeting or a manager to tell you
  • You care about craft without being precious - you write clean, reviewable code, sweat the details on UI polish and backend consistency, but never let "perfect" delay "live"
  • You thrive in a high-trust, low-overhead environment where you're empowered to make bold calls and accountable when those bets don't pay off
  • You're a strong communicator who asks sharp questions, shares context publicly, and treats the codebase as a shared space you're proud to maintain

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building AI-powered product features
  • Proven track record in high-growth startup environments

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver major features end-to-end, from initial prototype to production deployment
  • Take full responsibility for the quality and polish of what you ship: performant code, pixel-perfect UI, and thoughtful error handling
  • Drive technical decisions with strong judgment, knowing when an RFC adds value versus overhead, and when to bet on speed over completeness
  • Diagnose production issues using instrumentation and measurement (not vibes), and leave the codebase better than you found it
  • Actively shape what gets built: attend customer calls, question priorities, and ensure the work you're doing delivers real, measurable impact rather than ticking off a spec

Benefits

  • Base Salary Range $200-280K + equity
  • Comprehensive health coverage
  • $20K relocation assistance and visa sponsorship
  • High autonomy and direct collaboration with leadership
