About The Position

Role summary: Walmart is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. About the team: The Oracle FCCS Engineering team develops and operates the Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud, delivering secure, high-performance cloud services that automate consolidation, eliminations, translations, and close processes at scale. The team prioritizes accuracy, scalability, and reliability to enable finance teams to close efficiently and confidently. Leveraging deep ERP/EPM integrations and cloud-native architecture, the team drives innovation through design reviews, API design, and software prototyping. Members collaborate across disciplines to build robust solutions, continuously improve processes, and maintain engineering excellence in a dynamic, technology-driven environment. What you'll do: Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and machine learning frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities. Lead full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems. Conduct system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural standards. Build AI-driven applications and integrate machine learning components using multiple programming languages. Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering best practices. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements. Drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision making and innovation. What you'll bring: Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems. Strong experience in software development lifecycle management, encompassing coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance. Proficiency in API design, software prototyping, and application of software design patterns for secure, modular, and maintainable solutions. Demonstrated ability to lead technical design reviews and mentor engineering teams to foster continuous learning and technical excellence. Skilled in data-driven decision making to define success metrics and optimize engineering processes. Experience integrating AI/ML components and intelligent automation using modern programming languages and tools. Effective collaboration and communication skills to engage stakeholders and drive cross-team alignment.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
  • Strong experience in software development lifecycle management, encompassing coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in API design, software prototyping, and application of software design patterns for secure, modular, and maintainable solutions.

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
