What you'll do... Position: Staff Software Engineer Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089 Duties: Design and implement highly available, reliable, and scalable search platform using open-source search engines such as Apache Solr, Lucene, or Elastic Search serving millions of requests per day. Design and implement NoSQL data storages with Cassandra, Cosmos scalable to handle huge traffic. Stores transaction data using Relational Databases such as Azure SQL/ Oracle scalable to subsequent updates while retaining Atomicity and Consistency of data. Design application using Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming. Build low-latency REST API Web Services using Spring/ Spring Boot framework based on requirements enabling clients to query data. Improve overall application performance by optimizing the storages on databases by applying compression, deleting the indexes for older data and solving similar such platform limitations. Perform root cause analysis and resolution of critical business and production issues/incidents, experience in production support, including problem identification, ticket documentation, ensuring reliability, and low Mean time to Detection (MTTD) and Mean time to Recovery (MTTR). Apply design patterns along with object-oriented programming to mitigate the challenges of microservice architectures faced while widening the scope. Write scripts in Python for handling any adhoc queries such as reprocessing or migration of data. Improve code quality through writing unit tests, automation, and performs code reviews using JUnit, Mockito, Postman. Handle Cloud Computing Services such as Microsoft Azure. Create and deploy large-scale, containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker. Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 3 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 6 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment. Skills required: Experience building Search Platform using open-source search engines Apache Solr, Lucene and Elastic Search. Experience with NoSQL Database Cassandra and Azure Cosmos and Relational Database Management Systems Azure SQL, MySQL, and Oracle. Experience designing and Implementing applications with real-time data streaming tool Apache Kafka. Experience designing and building products of micro-services-oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs. Experience with performance Optimization for resolving platform limitation. Experience in root cause analysis of critical business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information using the monitoring tools Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana to lower the MTTD and MTTR. Experience with Java and Python including object-oriented programming, design patterns and solid Principles. Experience with improving code quality through writing unit tests, automation, and performing code reviews using JUnit, Mockito, and Postman. Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) using Jenkins, GitHub, Maven, Artifactory and Version Control tools Git, SVN, and CVS. Experience with Cloud Computing Services (Microsoft Azure). Experience with container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills. Salary Range: $184,827/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
