About The Position

We are looking for a skilled developer to write low latency financial software that will process billions of dollars a day worth of trading volume. This includes developing order book matching engines, trading engines, and REST & Websocket API endpoints. You will also be responsible for developing open source blockchain-based code that powers the dYdX protocol, building high performance REST & WebSocket APIs to support our frontend app and programmatic traders, and architecting performant and reliable backend systems. Collaboration with multi-functional teams is essential to develop the best overall product. You will manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables using your technical expertise, and mentor other team members on design techniques and coding standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience working as a full-time developer.
• You write secure, efficient, high quality code and have a strong understanding of CS fundamentals.
• You have experience with or are open to learning JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Express, WebSockets, Docker, AWS, Terraform.
• You are a fast learner who can quickly master new technologies.

Nice To Haves

• You've worked on high quality products in the finance or security space
• You have experience building & operating complex, highly reliable distributed systems involving microservices and APIs
• An interest in full-stack development. Experience building and architecting backend Web Services, as well as Web or Mobile applications
• You have a strong interest in decentralized finance
• You have experience building blockchain applications, or smart contracts
• You have experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
• CS Degree or equivalent experience
