As a Staff Software Engineer at Confluent, you will take on the role of technical lead for several key initiatives within the Stream Governance product. This product is essential for advancing Confluent's mission to integrate event streaming into the core of every organization, forming a vital part of the Data Streaming Platform. Your responsibilities will include delivering critical services such as the Confluent Stream Catalog, Stream Lineage, and Data Portal. These services are designed to empower customers by enabling them to search, discover, understand, share, and access data in a self-service manner. Additionally, you will help customers organize, group, and classify data in compliance with various data regulations, as well as understand complex data relationships to uncover deeper insights. In this role, you will work closely with your team and key stakeholders to design, architect, and develop a cloud-native, multi-tenant service for Stream Governance. You will guide the vision for the product, provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and enable a high-performing engineering team to tackle complex distributed data challenges at scale. Your work will involve developing a cloud-native Stream Governance platform for Kafka and real-time data, ensuring it is a highly available and scalable service. You will architect complex engineering systems from end to end and partner with engineering and other stakeholders to create and execute the overall roadmap for delivering a top-notch Data Streaming Platform for customers. Moreover, you will evaluate and enhance the efficiency of the platform's technology stack, keeping pace with industry trends and adopting state-of-the-art solutions. You will be responsible for solving complicated technical projects with high quality and providing technical guidance to the team in specialized areas. As a vital member of the team, you will manage and maintain a mission-critical service with a 99.99% SLA running across 88+ AWS, GCP, and Azure regions, while enhancing the stability, performance, scalability, and operational excellence across multiple critical systems.
