As a part of Walmart Global Tech, you will build state of the art personalization and recommendation solutions that will elevate the e-commerce experience of millions of customers. We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the Personalization team under Customer Experience organization. You will be in the unique position to bring a broader impact to the Walmart's customers and associates by building features and solutions that power the ML model inferencing and governance at scale, contributing to highly engaging customer experiences for Walmart customers across channels. About Team: Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

  • Lead development of multi-layered feature store stacks supporting hybrid retrieval, diverse data modalities, and multi-tenant access control that powers modern Agentic flows.
  • Design and govern platform standards for memory lifecycle management, schema evolution, and metadata-driven registry integration.
  • Collaborate with Science and Engineering teams to deliver end-to-end scalable solutions for cross-functional projects at organizational scale.
  • Work closely with business and product stakeholders to define strategy, vision, and roadmap for platform-wide initiatives in personalization and recommendations.
  • Set technical strategy for large-scale distributed systems that orchestrate workflows across memory stores, ML pipelines, and event-driven agents.
  • Actively contribute to the research community and represent the company in technical and open-source forums.
  • You have expertise in architecting hybrid memory systems optimized for large-scale AI/ML systems.
  • You have a proven track record of designing feature store platforms that serve both high-throughput real-time lookups and large-scale offline batch processing.
  • You have advanced knowledge of distributed systems architecture.
  • You have experience integrating ontologies and semantic search for memory retrieval in large-scale systems.
  • You have hands-on experience in migrating or consolidating data/memory platforms at scale.
  • You have strong influence skills for aligning cross-org initiatives and driving platform adoption.
  • You have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area
