About The Position

In KV Platform, we build foundational, managed distributed key-value datastores which scale with Datadog's diverse customer base. Our work powers Datadog's core products, fast growing set of features, and critical internal platforms. We're looking for a product-minded platform engineer who's passionate about building world class distributed storage that scales efficiently while maintaining millisecond performance and enables Datadog to ship products at scale faster.

Requirements

• You ship fast, communicate efficiently, route around blockers, and are comfortable working with ambiguity.
• You're passionate about data storage, experienced with high-scale data modeling and API design.
• You love talking with users and quickly prototyping new solutions to their problems.
• You know the tradeoffs to make to deliver a project quickly without compromising reliability.
• You're happy to jump in and do whatever's needed to move a project forward.
• You've built distributed systems at scale but maybe not Databases before.

Nice To Haves

• Bonus points if you keep up with the latest industry research and development.

Responsibilities

• Scale and build the next phase of our datastores that are growing 20% QoQ internally.
• Drive the technical direction for systems that process 10s of millions of RPS and stateful systems that manage 100s GB/s.
• Work with our internal users to quickly build features and distributed systems which allow them to access their key-value data.
• Design Machine Learning enabled migration solutions that store data in the best storage backend transparently based on client usage.
