As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. We are the Core Virtualization team, the heart of Google Cloud's Compute Engine virtualization stack. We focus on the user space components of our node-level hypervisor across both x86 and Arm platforms. We collaborate closely with partner teams, spanning from the control plane down to KVM (Linux Kernel Virtual Machine), and everything in between. In this role, your work will be to ensure a secure and compatible virtualized hardware experience for customers running guest operating systems as part of their workloads. This engineering work spans the virtualization stack, device drivers for the guest OS, and related tooling.
