Babylist is looking for a passionate Fullstack Staff Software Engineer to join our Babylist Health team. Launched in October 2022, Babylist Health provides a more user-friendly and transparent way for people to purchase a breast pump through insurance with incredible opportunities to broaden offerings for pregnancy, child, and new parent health in the future. This distributed team is responsible for scaling the technical systems and creating a user-friendly storefront that will support Babylist Health’s goals. You will also work on new strategic initiatives to expand the health offerings as we grow this business. As part of the team, you will lead business critical projects and make important decisions about how our systems grow and scale.

  • Collaborate closely with our Product team to lead creation of new features in health, including product education and comparison tools, automating user support flows, and expanding our offerings of goods and services via health insurance
  • Architect and lead execution of team cycle projects
  • Mentor other team members through design and architecture planning, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions
  • Demonstrate strong systems thinking and curiosity, identifying opportunities to improve our product, technical systems, or ways of working
  • Build systems to scale Babylist Health to $200M in revenue and beyond over the next 3 years
  • Become a subject matter expert within our health services, defining how these services and features will grow and scale
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Proven track record of delivering end-to-end solutions that drive business growth
  • Experience with React and Ruby on Rails
  • Ability to tackle complex problems and deliver robust solutions
  • Experience in e-commerce or consumer applications is a plus but not required
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent systems thinker, capable of architecting and delivering large projects independently and with a team
  • Results-oriented with a keen ability to prioritize tasks that deliver the most business impact
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching team members
