An ideal candidate must have expertise in Java, React, strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures, cloud application development, automation tools, CI/CD pipeline, and a proven understanding of microservices and REST APIs. Returns is the platform that powers Walmarts Stores and .com channels for all own and marketplace item assortments. Returns business ensure customers are feeling comfortable while shopping from any channel with seamless returns experience anywhere with in the Walmart and it's affiliated carrier network. In this role, you will develop highly scalable services to process millions of requests per day and solve complex software engineering problems by leveraging state-of-the-art technology. Requirements

10+ years of full-stack development experience in complex web applications.
Proven ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership abilities to lead projects and mentor junior team members.
Experience in e-commerce or marketplace platforms.
Contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in internal platform evangelism.
7+ years of relevant experience in building highly resilient, highly scalable systems.
A good understanding of Java and Microservices.
Hands-on experience with Java, ReactJS, Spring Boot, Cloud (Azure/GCP/AWS), Webpack, Kafka (or other messaging service), Memcached/Redis or any caching technologies, relational DBMS ( MySQL, Oracle etc.)
Should be hands-on writing/reviewing design & code.
Understand the product and project management space with Agile methodologies.
CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins.
Demonstrated end-to-end ownership for development and design of least one cloud-based project - Experience in building extensible platforms, data pipelines are desirable.
Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly. Proficient in new and emerging technologies.
Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of design decisions.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.
Mentoring/coaching Senior staff engineers and other Engineers.
Focus on reusability, frameworks, patterns, and configurations tools for faster development.
Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology
Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs for robust and secure communication between frontend and backend systems.
Knowledge of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture in Node.js.
Familiarity with performance optimization techniques for backend systems to ensure high responsiveness and low latency.
Understanding of security best practices for protecting against vulnerabilities and ensuring data integrity and privacy.
Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
Over 10+ years of experience in designing and developing large-scale, distributed systems
Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
Strong background in building scalable applications using Micro-services architecture
Hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Azure Cosmos, MySQL, Oracle, Cassandra, etc.)
Expertise in internet-scale distributed technologies (e.g., ElasticSearch, Solr, MemCache, and similar tools)
Experience working with distributed event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, etc.)
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 6 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

Experience in internalization is a plus.
Understanding of machine learning preferred.

User Interface Design: Utilize your knowledge in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS, and Webpack to build responsive and dynamic user interfaces. Implement and customize CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation to enhance the visual appeal and functionality.
Node.js Knowledge: Leverage your knowledge on Node.js for server-side JavaScript, developing scalable backend services and ensuring seamless integration with frontend applications. Implement efficient data processing and handle asynchronous operations effectively.
Backend Development: Design and develop RESTful APIs, ensuring robust and secure communication between frontend and backend systems. Work with databases, both SQL and NoSQL, to manage data storage and retrieval efficiently. Apply performance optimization techniques and security best practices.
Mentoring & Learning: Provide mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Lead by example and encourage knowledge sharing within the team.
Architecture & Design: Stay abreast of emerging frontend and backend technologies, make strategic architectural decisions, and maintain comprehensive documentation. Drive the architectural vision for both frontend and server-side systems.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance user experiences and ensure seamless integration. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments.
