About the Role
Sprig is on a path to build a world-class product experience platform that empowers the best businesses to truly understand how their users experience their products at scale. The Core team owns the end-to-end experience for building studies and deploying them across our customers’ applications via an installable client-side SDK.
As a frontend engineer, you will serve as the technical leader, setting the long-term vision and architecture for our public-facing Web SDK and the core dashboard UI. This role requires deep expertise in building high-performing, resilient, and minimal footprint client-side systems designed for installation across millions of users.
You will guide the team on best practices and coding standards to promote reusability, performance optimization, and rigorous client-side testing. You will also champion the developer experience of the SDK for the thousands of developers who use Sprig’s SDK, which they know and love.
In this role, cross-functional collaboration with Product and Design will be critical in translating the product roadmap into clear, actionable technical specifications.
This role is based in San Francisco, with three days working in the office.

Requirements

• Senior to Staff level experience (i.e., 8+ years) experience with TypeScript + React, Node.js
• Expert in optimizing page load performance at scale
• Deep understanding of modern web practices and the relevant technologies
• Passion for learning, building, and moving fast. We highly value your ability and appetite for learning
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve our web platform
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document and explain the technical work that has been done

Responsibilities

• Join our highly experienced engineering team to make a foundational impact at the beginning of a key growth phase
• Define the long-term architectural vision for our frontend systems and SDKs, ensuring they are modular, resilient, and performant.
• Lead the development and developer experience of our public-facing SDKs used by millions of users. You’ll optimize for a minimal bundle size.
• Guide and mentor the team on industry best practices and coding standards for our frontend, fostering a culture of rigorous client-side testing and performance optimization.
