We are looking for a staff software engineer who is comfortable with high degrees of ambiguity and is proficient at designing scalable systems, mentoring junior engineers, and acting as a technical leader as our team pushes the Qualtrics Customer Experience (CX) product to the next level. Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing well-crafted, scalable, and maintainable code
  • Working through ambiguity; taking business goals and product ideas and turning them into working products for real customers
  • Using metrics to measure success and leveraging data to make decisions
  • Partnering with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to deliver solutions for our customers
  • Taking initiative and demonstrating persistence in getting things done
  • Strong level of curiosity
  • Showing a desire to learn new skills and grow in the role
  • Develop scalable, fast, robust, and simple web-based solutions to solve complex business problems
  • Execute while business/technical requirements are not well defined, and proactively drive deliverables while anticipating and mitigating risk
  • Make decisions independently, in collaboration with the team, but keep stakeholders informed of impactful changes
  • Drive operational perfection by driving investigation of production issues, root cause analysis and follow-up actions for mitigation
  • Implement new features and optimize existing ones to drive maximum performance
  • Attend daily stand-up meetings, collaborate with your peers, prioritize features, and work with a sense of urgency to deliver value to your customers
  • Contribute to technical standards for our engineering organization

Requirements

  • Has worked with design and product teams to understand needs, propose features, create early prototypes, and transform them into exciting end-user features
  • Has developed scalable, fast, robust, and rich web-based solutions to solve complex business problems, using the latest frontend and backend technologies
  • Experience working in a full-stack team, building advanced frontend applications, large-scale backends and maintaining high-volume datastores
  • Experience working with AWS technologies
  • Experience working in NodeJS is a plus
  • Experience with machine learning and generative AI is a plus
  • Experience with continuous delivery, git, test automation, and build/deploy systems
  • Strong algorithms, data structures, and coding background
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 8+ years working in a full-stack engineering position (preferably for a SaaS company)
