The Compute Reliability and Efficiency team is looking to hire a Staff Software Engineer with a focus on lower-level (Linux and Kubernetes) systems engineering that thrives at the intersection of infrastructure and software engineering. At Reddit, our Compute organization breaks down into 2 teams: Compute Reliability and Efficiency (CRE) and Compute Platform and Orchestration (CPO). CRE focuses on intra-cluster engineering problems aimed at balancing performance, efficiency, and stability. Key focus areas include detection of node-level (Linux) performance characteristics, efficient resource scheduling, lower-level Kubernetes integrations, and cluster upgrades. CPO handles higher-level orchestration of compute capacity and workload primitives for multi-cloud, multi-region deployments, focusing on software automation, APIs, core SDKs, and out-of-cluster ancillary concerns. As a member of the Compute Reliability and Efficiency team, you'll be solving large-scale infrastructure problems using software we create and integrating services from the cloud native ecosystem, impacting hundreds of millions of users worldwide.
